The dark and heavy atmosphere you see in the previous two seasons of "Arrow" might take a break this Season 4.

In an interview by Entertainment Weekly (EW), executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), in the upcoming season, will be much "happier" and more "carefree" and will be living a normal life with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).

"Ever since Slade Wilson [Manu Bennett] came to town around [season 2, episode 15], the show has been on this very, very dark path, leading to Sara's [Caity Lotz] death and the culmination of season 3," Guggenheim explained to EW.

"Our goal was to return the show more in the tone of the first season-and-a-half," the executive producer furthered.

Guggenheim also emphasized that Season 4 will be a different spin on the show where Oliver will have a "new outlook" in life.

"We played him as a guy who was returning home from war with PTSD for the first three years. Now he's put those demons to rest or so he thinks and there's a lightness to him as a result of all the things he learned last year," Guggenheim added.

On the other hand, Showrunner Wendy Mericle supported the details given by Guggenheim, citing that Oliver/Arrow will have "more faith in humanity" and the coming season will be about establishing his own legacy instead of erasing his father's.

As cited by Screen Rant, the shift that will come to Oliver/Arrow in Season 4 will give justice to the original "Green Arrow" character who is "often funny, charming and more relaxed in the field." Nonetheless, the site also mentioned that the change might turn some fans away who liked the confused and troubled Oliver Queen.

Meanwhile, the show's executives also teased EW regarding the other characters and how the return of Oliver and other events will affect them.

Felicity will be heading Palmer Technologies as its CEO after what Guggenheim described as the "apparent death" of Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh). The producer hinted that fans of the show will see the other side of Felicity who will be faced with "unexpected challenges."

Diggle (David Ramsey), in contrast, will not be happy with the return of Oliver after the decision he made in the previous season. However, Diggle's Season 4 will be more highlighted with his struggle against the "pure evil" Damian Darhk (Neal McDonough) who leads the organization that "put the hit out" of his brother.

The fourth installment of the hit TV series will also feature the events and conflicts surrounding Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and her sister, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), who will be resurrected in the show.

"Arrow" Season 4 will be aired on October 7, 2015 at The CW.
