"Game of Thrones" actress Maisie Williams might take the lead role in "The Last Us" movie.

According to Venture Capital Post, Maisie Williams might take on the role of main character "Ellie" in the "The Last Us" movie. However, the actor who will play her adult companion Joel remains unconfirmed.

The "Game of Thrones" star revealed that she had talked with film writer Neil Druckmann  and producer Sam Raimi. She stated that the production of the movie is in its "very, very early days."

The actress revealed that the news was announced prematurely, and that production has not happened yet. However, when things are more clear regarding casting and production, Maisie said "I'll be here."

Williams said that she started playing "The Last of Us" with her brothers, Digital Spy reported. She also admitted that she loved how the game was because it wasn't the typical video game where the boys shout and swear at each other while playing.

Maisie recently accepted a Guinness Book of World Records on behalf of "Game of Thrones." The HBO hit series won and broke the record for having the largest simultaneous broadcast of a TV drama. The show will be included in the Guinness Book of World Records 2016 edition, where they will include the first look of Maisie a.k.a. Arya Stark accepting the award on behalf of the cast and crew.

"Game of Thrones" was broadcast in 173 countries and territories in the world when they premiered the second episode of the latest season. The 2016 edition of the Guinness Book of World Record will be released on September 10.

Meanwhile, Maisie's rumored newest project "The Last of Us" will be the movie adaptation of a multi-award-winning video game. The movie will be set 20 years after a post-apocalyptic America after a viral outbreak. The main characters Ellie and Joel must make their way through zombies and aggressive humans packed with firearms and self-defense skills. It was reported that the movie will not be any different from the plot of the video game.

According to Empire Online, "The Last of Us" could feature Hollywood A-listers to play alongside Williams. Those who could possibly play the role of Joel are Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Gerard Butler, Liam Neeson or Bradley Cooper, to name a few.

"The Last of Us" movie will be another big-screen adaptation after it became one of the bestselling PS3 games to date.
