There is not much known about BioWares' "Mass Effect: Andromeda." Even after its E3 2015 reveal, all the fans get are scant details of the game and the new protagonist scanning for something in a view of massive worlds. However, the game's Senior Development Director Chris Wynn gave bits of information that tease the fans even more.

In a Q&A session via twitter, Wynn answered fans questions regarding the role-playing third-person shooter video game. One question that appeared is if fans could see familiar faces from the previous versions of the game which Wynn quickly shut down answering that it would not make sense for the game's storyline given that the setting will take place in an entirely new galaxy.

Wynn also did not confirm if minor characters from the science-fiction video game trilogy will be seen as the studio is not yet finished in adding all the characters. However, he furthered that fans will still feel at home in the game as there are non-character connections like races as well as the return of the Mako. Additionally, when asked about "Andromeda's" gameplay, Wynn revealed that it was being rebuilt in the new engine which is the primary reason the development team needed much time. He went on to say that that there are some elements in the games combat system that makes it more dynamic but with still the same feel as "Mass Effect 3."

On the other hand, as reported by Game Rant, since there are no familiar faces returning to the game, it would be safe to assume that the game's timeline will take place on either before or after the events of the trilogy. The report even cited that if the ComicCon 2014 reveal — where the development team said that the game will take place during the era of Commander Shepard — is indeed true, fans should expect to explore new worlds far away from spots like citadel.

In BioWare's official blog, however, it was revealed that the game will be a totally new adventure and will take place "far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy." It also added that gamers will play a male or female human character piloting the new and improved Mako and exploring the all-new galaxy of Andromeda.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is scheduled for release in the holiday season of 2016 and will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
