Rockstar Games released a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5 yesterday, November 14, to much fanfare. It's been about one year since Rockstar released the first Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer, and the developer has been keeping mum on the game's details, but the new trailer shows off some of the game's new features - including the three main characters.

The trailer places a heavy emphasis on the three characters' backgrounds by revealing tidbits about where they live in Los Santos and whom they are associated with.

The trailer opens with Michael, the ex-bank robber who has moved out west and seems to live a relative life of luxury, full of family issues that cause Michael to sneak off for a drink while his wife and daughter argue.

Next up is Trevor, who has been described as a "drugged up psychopath." It looks like Trevor will be doing most of the hard-hitting and beating down, and he seems to hail from a pretty rough neighborhood.

Finally, we get a look at Franklin, an ambitious repo man who seems to be involved in selling drugs. Franklin looks like he has some domestic issues as well, since there's a scene with him getting chewed out by his presumed partner.

The characters meet up through the course of the trailer, with Michael eventually calling Trevor his "best friend" and Franklin "the son [he] always wanted." From the group dynamic, it looks like Michael will probably be calling the shots, which makes sense since he is an ex-bank robber and the trailer depicts a bank heist.

Trevor will be able to fly planes and there's even an exciting scene where Trevor drives a 4X4 straight out of a freight plane and then parachutes down, vividly showcasing the scope of Los Santos, which is supposed to be the biggest open world Rockstar has created to date.

There are plenty more tiny details, so stay tuned as we dissect the trailer even more.
