It is not often that a throwaway comment of a video game conductor makes headlines, but when it comes with news of a new "Final Fantasy XII", it will. Yes, there is reason to believe that the innovative role-playing game will hit the market once again.

Conductor Arnie Roth finds himself the center of attention at the "Final Fantasy" Distant Worlds concert in Pittsburgh when he divulges information about a "Final Fantasy XII" remake in the works, to the delight of the audience. Reports from Forbes say that "Final Fantasy XII"'s original composer Hitoshi Sakimoto was also at the event, adding traction to the news.

Despite the lack of confirmation from the game's developer and publisher Square Enix, the gaming community has embraced the prospect of a bigger and better iteration of one of the industry's favorites.

Even if Roth meant a remastered version of the "Final Fantasy XII" is in the making, the possibility of a high definition version remains extremely appealing to the public, especially on the heels of the very successful "Final Fantasy X" HD.

Although it's not new for the "Final Fantasy" franchise to reboot and remake the different versions of the games, this is the first time that fans have heard of any plans to remake the beloved "Final Fantasy XII", which is the only edition of the series that gamers cannot play on modern consoles, according to Kotaku.com.

While there were a lot of obstacles that came with the creation of the video game, including losing well-known director Yasumi Matsuno and other members of the team, a lot of the elements of "Final Fantasy XII" were praised by critics and gamers.

From the vibrant graphics to the storyline to the musical score, it was regarded as extremely innovative when it was released. After five years of production, the twelfth version of the fantasy game was released in 2006 for the Playstation 2 and immediately earned widespread acclaim.

Awarded by various publications and websites as the number one Playstation 2 game at the time, it comes as no surprise that a remake is being considered for public release - and that many of the fans are eager to get it off the ground.

Among the various recognitions of the "Final Fantasy XII" are "Game of the Month" in Newtype USA magazine, "Double Platinum Prize" in Playstation Awards 2006, "Game of the Year 2006" in Edge and Famitsu magazines, and many more.
