Good news for "Game of Thrones" fans as new details regarding the "Winds of Winter" release date and the possible content of the back has been revealed, if the reports and rumors are to be believed.

Fans have waited for a long time for the "Song of Ice and Fire" book 6 aka the "Winds of Winter" release date to be announced and it seems that they may have gotten their wish as reports say that the book would come out next year.

According to Parent Herald, George RR Martin allegedly confirmed that the "Winds of Winter" release date would be set before the next season of "Game of Thrones" airs and it was speculated that the "Winds of Winter" will be available during the first quarter of the following year.

It now seems that the book is being worked on tirelessly by Martin, so a "Winds of Winter" release date has been reportedly set.

If fans remember, during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Martin stated that he is now doing everything he can to complete the "Winds of Winter" even going as far as cancelling convention appearances along with other things.

"I wish it was out now. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish. But I canceled two convention appearances, I'm turning down a lot more interviews-anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done," said Martin.

According to Venture Capital Post, the "Game of Thrones " Season 6 is likely to debut in late March or mid-April. So, with Martin committed to finishing the book before the next season of "Game of Thrones" start, the "Winds of Winter" release date will not be later than mid-March next year.

However, fans should just calm down and wait for the "Winds of Winter" release date as Martin promises that something shocking would happen in the book.

As was noted by Parent Herald, Martin said that "Winds of Winter" will drive fans crazy as his planned twist is going to be insane.

"This is going to drive your readers crazy but I love it. I'm still weighing whether to go that direction or not. It's a great twist. It's easy to do things that are shocking or unexpected, but they have to grow out of characters. They have to grow out of situations," said Martin.
