"Fast and Furious 8" will be the first movie from the franchise where fans won't be able to see Paul Walker. To fill in the gaps, there are rumors that Eva Mendes will reprise her role for the upcoming sure-hit movie.

Eva Mendes is rumored to return in the "Fast and Furious 8" and will reprise her role as Agent Monica Fuentes. Her character used to be the love interest of Paul Walker's character. According to Movie News Guide, the next "Fast and Furious" franchise movie's plot will be connected to Fuentes' story. Apart from reappearing in the movie, Mendes' character will also team up with Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez's characters.

In another report by Cinema Blend, Diesel has indeed confirmed "Fast and Furious 8" and would tentatively reach theaters on April 14, 2017. However, there are still a lot of questions that fans are asking. Apart from the rumored casting, the next "Fast and Furious" has no director yet. Well it doesn't seem like the producers are set to pick a director without completing the cast first.

"We cannot speculate who the director is going to be but we need someone who can give us some over the top thrills to add to how awesome "Fast and Furious 7″ was," the article from Movie News Guide stated.

Apart from Mendes, the next movie will still star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Luke Hobbs, Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw and Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce. Lucas Scott will also reprise his role as Sean Boswell. It's also rumored that Helen Mirren will star in the movie to play as villain next to Statham.

Paul Walker died in a car accident in 2013 and it was his brother Cody Walker who completed the last footages of the last "Fast and Furious" movie in his behalf. With the help of CGI, Cody's face was transformed into Paul's. There are also rumors that Cody will star in the next "Fast and Furious" movie but it has not been confirmed.

"Well, I was trying to keep it close to the vest throughout the release. Paul [Walker] used to say that eight was guaranteed. And in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you sometimes feel like you have to make sure it comes to pass," Vin Diesel said. "So if fate has it, fate..F8...if fate has it, then you'll get this when you hear about it. Seven was for Paul, eight is from Paul."
