After four years of marriage, Blake Shelton, 39, and wife Miranda Lambert, 31, are calling it quits. Shelton reportedly cannot give up his party lifestyle to improve their relationship.

USA Today reported that the singer couple announced their divorce in a joint statement on Monday, July 20, 2015.

“This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter,” the couple stated.

Shelton and Lambert met in 2005 at a CMT concert taping where they performed together. In 2010, Shelton proposed and the two married on May 14, 2011, in Boerne, Texas. The married singers made them quite popular in the country music scene and their careers exploded in the years after their marriage.

USA Today wrote that Shelton became a judge on “The Voice” on NBC in 2011, while Lambert’s album “Platinum” garnered a Grammy award for best country album earlier in 2015. Shelton also won Entertainer of the Year in 2012. The CMA and Academy of Country Music awarded both artists Song of the Year awards for the 2012 hit “over You”. In the past five years, Shelton and Lambert were named the male and female vocalists of the year by the Country Music Association.

During their marriage, there were also rumors that the couple were experiencing problems, although they refuted these. In 2014, Lambert shared that she was happy, but people have to ask Shelton how he felt.

In an exclusive report by Hollywood Life, Shelton was revealed to have filed for divorce a few months ago and their split was made final on July 20, 2015.

An insider said that when Shelton and Lambert first became a couple, they were wildly attracted to each other. They were best friends and lovers at the same time. However, as time passed, Lambert also changed as well as her priorities. She stopped drinking and did not party as much as she used to. She also became more conscious about her diet. Shelton, however, did not change his ways. He still enjoyed partying, drinking and eating fried food. The fact that Shelton enjoyed being in the social scenes did not bode well for Lambert in the long run.

“Blake would go out and socialize after filming “TheVoice”, or when he was out on the road, which infuriated Miranda. Miranda kept wondering where he was and who he was with. She couldn’t stop herself from worrying,” the source added.
