Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the fugitive billionaire drug lord who escaped a Mexican jail over the weekend, just made an unlikely enemy in American presidential candidate Donald Trump.

News of the Sinaloa Cartel leader's audacious jailbreak made waves in the United States Saturday morning, prompting Trump to proclaim that he "would kick his a--!" In last month, Trump has apparently alienated the Latino community by calling Mexicans rapists and criminals, pointing directly at drug lords like Guzman.

In a string of tweets, Trump doubled down on his anti-immigration stance, directing his rage toward fellow U.S. presidential candidates, the Mexican government, and Guzman.

"Can you envision Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton negotiating with 'El Chapo', the Mexican drug lord who escaped prison," Trump tweeted, adding "The U.S. will invite El Chapo, the Mexican drug lord who just escaped prison, to become a U.S. citizen because our "leaders" can't say no!"

Hours after sharing his controversial comments, Trump became the target of an unverified Twitter account reportedly run by El Chapo's son. A derogatory Tweet directed at @realDonaldTrump, written in Spanish, roughly translates to "Keep f***ing around and I'm going to make you swallow all your b**ch words you f***ing whitey milks***tter."

Latinos Post could not verify the Twitter account's authenticity, but the account has garnered over 275,000 followers since June 2012. The threat was large enough that Trump contacted the FBI, TMZ reported Monday morning.

"I'm fighting for much more than myself," Trump told the entertainment website. "I'm fighting for the future of our country which is being overrun by criminals." He added, "You can't be intimidated. It's too important."

A manhunt is underway for El Chapo after his escape from a maximum security prison over the weekend. it is believed he made a getaway through a mile-long tunnel leading into a nearby home.
