"Jane the Virgin" actress Gina Rodriguez redefines what "sexiness" means in an empowering message.

Gina Rodriguez of hit show "Jane the Virgin" was asked what her take on "sexiness" is, especially in an industry that has almost a one way standard. The Bustle reported that the 30-year-old "rising star" impressed with her answer after being asked about whether she feels pressure in changing her ways now that she is a celebrity.

"I feel very lucky that my journey happened the way that it did. I was able to accept my uniqueness and take it as something that was mine and that was powerful and that was strong in order to navigate through this industry, which can be very scary," Gina said. "So I know what my sexiness is and that looks different than maybe what we're used to. My sexiness lies in my strength and my power and my ability to see the beauty that I have, not that I'm so close to having or that I would have if I just lost this much weight, not the idea of it, but of me, right now, today."

In her recent interview with The Wrap, she reveals her admiration with Hollywood actress "It Girl" Jennifer Lawrence. She said that she once bought the celebrity hype when she did the indie movie "Filly Brown." She later realized that is was not about how her career ends up but that she had to enjoy every experience that comes with every project.

Furthermore, in her interview with The Wrap, the actress acknowledged the many opportunities that is now being given to her ever since playing "Jane." She added that playing the character and being on the show not only exposed her to important people in the industry but also helped her create a foundation with her sisters, explore her writing skills, work with non-profit organizations and give motivational speeches.

"It's opened doors because there's room for trust, and that's priceless," Rodriguez said. "It put me in a light where it allowed people to see what I could do, and have a reassurance that I was going to work hard for them."

But now that she has many offers and chances to venture outside the series, the actress was asked whether she feels "Jane the Virgin" is limiting her in some ways.

"I think anything that is supposed to be yours, will be. I find "Jane" to be such a blessing in my life that there's no way I believe it limits me in any respect. And the beautiful time I've had during hiatus, at least this year, since it's my first experience with it, has enabled me to do wonders," Gina responded.
