Good news for "Godzilla" fans as "Godzilla 2" could very well be home to the appearance of MechaGodzilla and if the reports and rumors are to be believed, then the monster could be announced at the San Diego Comic-Con.

According to Sherylyn Toda of Franchise Herald, it has been confirmed that Legendary Pictures would have a panel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.

As was noted on the report, Legendary Pictures is slated to have a panel hosted by Chris Hardwick on July 11 at 2:30 PM. It was also stated that it has been rumored that Legendary Pictures would unveil some new information about "Godzilla 2".

It has been rumored that Legendary Pictures would finally reveal that MechaGodzilla would indeed be part of the "Godzilla 2" monster line-up.

However, some "Godzilla" fans noted that "Godzilla 2" has too many monsters already and that MechaGodzilla being added to the film would be overkill as the film features three of Godzilla's biggest enemies, namely, Rhodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah.

Meanwhile, the original Godzilla aka the Toho Godzilla is now officially a citizen of Japan and that he is now an ambassador for Tokyo's Shinjuku Ward, as reported by Dave Gonzales of Geek.com

The report also states that the Shinjuku Ward gave fans certificates of Godzilla's newfound citizenship and here are a bunch of details that were written on the certificate:

-Name: Godzilla

-Address: Shinjuku-ku, Kabuki-cho, 1-19-1

-Date of birth: April 9, 1954

-Date of becoming a Shinjuku resident: April 9, 2015

-Reason for special residency: Promoting the entertainment of and watching over the Kabuki-cho neighborhood and drawing visitors from around the globe in the form of the Godzilla head built atop the Shinjuku TOHO Building.

-Previous visits to Shinjuku Ward: 3 times; Godzilla (1984), Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah(1991), Godzilla 2000 Millennium (1999)

That is not all as the report notes that the aftermath of Godzilla's new found citizenship comes with the confirmation that a new "Godzilla" film would be made by Toho and that it would be released next year.

Gareth Edward's "Godzilla 2" is set to be released in theatre on 2017 while Toho's next "Godzilla" film would be available by next year. Legendary Pictures has hired Max Bornstein to write the screenplay for "Godzilla 2" and Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to reprise his role as Lt. Ford.
