The latest preview of the Microsoft Windows 10 presented new Xbox features for PC gamers.

Xbox.com announced that beginning on June 15, 2015, Xbox One preview program members who are also part of the Windows Insider program can take advantage of the streaming feature that will mirror their Xbox One user interface onto their Windows 10 PCs and tablets. The new streaming function will allow users to stream games as well as access their friends, multiplayer, achievements, Snap mode and Party Chat, among others. Game streaming will be started via the Xbox on Windows 10 app on a tablet or PC using the same home network.

To enable game streaming on Xbox One, members will discover a new option in Settings, then Preferences then Allow game streaming to other devices (beta). The option will be available for gaming consoles with an OS version of xb_rel_1507.150609 or later. As soon as users enable the Allow game streaming option on their console, they can connect their Windows 10 PC or tablet to their Xbox One via the new app. Wired connections for Windows 10 devices and Xbox One will render excellent quality and performance. Users who opt for wireless connection on their devices should view support.xbox.com to get more details.

To stream games, users should attach a wired Xbox controller to their Windows 10 tablet or PC. Next, they should choose Connected then Stream from the Xbox on Windows 10 app to start game streaming. There will be a notification on the Xbox One that a specific user initiated game streaming. The Xbox One console will present that it is in use during game streaming.

Xbox.com also stated that users can turn their Xbox One on or off using the new Xbox on Windows 10 app. If the Xbox One console is on Instant-on mode, they can use the app to turn the console on and begin game streaming.

Venture Beat revealed that Windows Insiders, or users who can test the upcoming OS for free, can find the improved My Games section of the Xbox app. They will also find enhanced sharing options and account controls. There will also be a list of Windows 10 Xbox app capabilities, including game streaming via an Xbox One console.

The Xbox on Windows 10 app will automatically update to the preview version that allows game streaming as soon as it becomes available in the Windows Store. Users who get the update should see the version number 5.6.11034 or higher.
