Who is better? Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? The two greatest living soccer players not only compete in the same league but for rival squads. Messi has had the edge over Ronaldo the last few years as Barcelona has been the supreme squad in European soccer, but Ronaldo may be having the best year of his career. Every week Latinos post compares both players and tries to determine who had the better performance during the week.

Let us look at what the two superstars accomplished during the tenth week of La Liga.

Messi: Messi had a rather eventful week, but not on the pitch. After the birth of his son Thiago he returned in Barca's match against Celta Vigo but had little impact on the match. He produced five shots, including two on goal, but failed to deliver any goals or assists on the match.

Ronaldo: Unlike Messi, Ronaldo had nothing to celebrate this week aside from Madrid's 4-0 romp over Real Zaragoza. He had 9 shots and five of them on target, but he also failed to register a single goal or assist.

Stats Through Week 10

Messi: 13 goals, 4 assists ( 2 goals, 2 assists in UCL, 2 goals in Spanish Super Cup)

Ronaldo: 11 goals, 1 assists (5 goals in UCL, 2 goals in Spanish Super Cup)

Edge: It is hard to give anyone an advantage this week as they both played well, but failed to really deliver for their team.

5-5 Tie.

During week 5, both players earned a point for equally strong weeks. During week 10, neither earned a point for forgettable weeks.
