Brandon Spikes has gone from the frying pan into the fire.

Spikes, already in a lot of heat, practically kissed away any probability of future affiliations with the New England Patriots after his car was found abandoned at I-495 in Foxborough, Massachusetts the other day.

The car, a 2011 Mercedes Maybach, was found abandoned once police arrived to respond to a report from the Mercedes-Benz Roadside Assistance claiming that a driver had reportedly hit a deer.

The police did not find the driver, or a deer when they arrived at the scene. The car showed a front-end damage and was later on discovered to be registered to Spikes in what could be a hit-and-run incident.

Aside from that, there were other reports which may be tied up with the scene. A separate report claimed that a Nissan Murano had also been rear-ended at I-495 which saw three occupants brought to hospital to treat minor injuries.

As of this writing, it has yet to be established if that incident was tied up to the abandoned Mercedes Maybach now linked to Brandon Spikes until they are able to determine who was driving the damaged vehicle.

Spikes was already in a lot of trouble as he has had his share of conflicts with the Patriots.

He was surprisingly signed last May 16 to a one-year deal reportedly around $2 million and included a $25,000 signing bonus. The deal became interesting to most who have been following the rocky relationship between Spikes and the Patriots, which included a controversial rant the lineback brought up on Twitter.

After signing with the Buffalo Bills in 2014, Spikes tweeted “4 years a slave” which was apparently referring to his four seasons with the Patriots.

In 2014, Spikes was placed on the injured list which was questioned by the athlete himself. In the end, both Spikes and the Patriots agreed to the setup over an outright release.

Prior to the hit-and-run incident, both he and coach Bill Belichick seemed to have buried the hatchet but the latest scenario may have put an end to ever seeing Spikes wear the Patriots uniform ever again.

Spikes is no stranger to a dark past. Aside from the tweets and the latest incident, he was also involved in a controversial video of him and a woman which was posted online back in 2010. On the same year, he was also suspended four games for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substances policy.

He was the second round draft pick of the Patriots in 2010 out of the University of Florida. In his five seasons in the NFL, he is credited with 340 total tackles, 2 sacks 6 forced fumbles and 2 interceptions.

Right now, it remains to be seen if the 27-year-old free agent would have any chance of hooking up with other NFL ballclubs.
