As Apple's iPhone 6 and 6 Plus lines continue to be successful in the market, new rumors about the next Apple offering arise.

More Powerful

According to International Business Times, the next line, dubbed as the iPhone 6s, will have more power than its predecessors. The new iPhone 6s is rumored to have the A9 processor. Very little is known about the specifics of the new A9, but according to Apple Insider, a third of the entire manufacturing order of the chips would come from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).

This decision was said to be a "last-minute" call from Apple. It was reported that Apple's previous A9 chip manufacturer, GlobalFoundries, continued to provide "exceptionally poor A9 chip yield rates of around 30 percent."

Partnering with TSMC "reduces supply uncertainties for Apple," said KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kou.

More Models

Meanwhile, in terms of the models, speculations abound that Apple will offer three models for the next generation of iPhones. They could offer a standard iPhone 6s, a smaller 4-inch version called the "6c," and the iPhone 6s Plus.

Better Camera

Apple could also improve the camera lenses on the next line. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus both feature protruding lenses on the already thin smartphones. They could retain a higher quality image with a smaller camera by adding "multiple lenses to capture DSLR-quality images in a smaller package."

With a new patent from Apple, the "Small Form Factor Telephoto Camera," a smaller camera becomes more and more possible. It was also reported that they are already partnering with an Israeli camera startup, LinX, to help them engineer the new camera design.

New Features

Force Touch is also another interesting rumor about the new iPhone 6S. Force Touch is a technology that allows the device to "distinguish between different pressures," according to Realty Today.

A report from the Wall Street Journal also confirms the possibility of a Force Touch technology in the new iPhone 6s. The report also stated that Apple Inc. will use this technology on the new MacBooks and Apple Watches.

Release Date

So far, the release of the new iPhone 6s is expected on the fall of 2015. If we are going to follow Apple's history of releasing new products, they could launch the new smartphone this coming September.

In October of 2011, the iPhone 4s was launched. The iPhone 5 was released in September 2012. The iPhone 5s and 5c series were released on Septeber 2013. Finally, the iPhone 6 was released September last year.

There are no official announcements from Apple yet but it was also suggested that the iOS 9 will be launched together with the new iPhone 6s.
