The rumored "Red Dead Redemption 2" is said to get the title "Legends of the West." This is according to the report of Christian Today which cited a Reddit post of an alleged former Rockstar employee (audio engineer) who leaked several details about the new game.

"Hello. I am a former Rockstar game dev. I will not give any more personal information for my safety. My boss was a major D*** so this is why I am leaking info on the up coming Red Dead Redemption prequel. The sequel will be called 'Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West'. Although it is the second (or third if you consider Undead Nightmare a sequel) game, It is chronologically before the original game. The game will take place in the same area as the original game, twelve years before the first original game," the post read.

Well, we don't know yet whether this rumor is indeed true as we can't even confirm if Rockstar would release a sequel to the game.

But as far as its potential release date is concern, Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities, earlier aired (via Gaming Bolt) that he believes that Rockstar Games, also known for the famous "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, would not release a "Red Dead Redemption" sequel soon.

"I don't think the sequel to Red Dead Redemption is the next Rockstar game. Remember when I said there was some new IP that they've been working on since at least '09?...I think Rockstar has a really amazing number of great games and great IPs, and I don't think that Rockstar are motivated by money. I think Rockstar are motivated by high quality game experiences. And I don't think that they're willing to abandon those other brands in order to generate higher sales for their parent company. I think that they want to keep all those brands alive," Pachter was quoted in the Gaming Bolt report saying.

Instead, it is more likely that Rockstar would announce a new IP, Pachter said.

Express backs this, adding that the new IP might indeed come out this year, specifically this June, before the E3 event.

While some expect "Red Dead Redemption 2" to come out this year, Christian Today believes it would be released next year, claiming that Rockstar is in "no rush" to make it happen. It is expected to arrive on PS4 and Xbox One consoles. Rockstar has yet to make a statement regarding these rumors.
