Earlier this year, a Taylor Swift-Kanye West collaboration appeared to be a likely circumstance. However, months after the seeds of a musical fusion was sowed, both artists still have nothing to show to fans.

When Taylor was recently asked during an interview on whether she and Ye will indeed record a duet, she affirmed by saying that the rapper "has said that."

"We've never been in a studio together, but, he's got a lot of amazing ideas," she revealed to Entertainment Tonight.

"He's one of those people that's just like idea, idea, idea," she went on to say. "He's very creative and... I think we've talked about it but we've also talked about so many other things... I completely respect him as a producer. So, that's all I know now."

Perhaps the duo are still wading their way through the gushing river of ideas coming forth from the amazing Kanye's mind? It appears the two have a lot so sort through before they can finally narrow down their options and turn it into something they can offer to fans.

Or perhaps T-Swift is not one to spoil a surprise and chose to keep the project under cover for now?

Kanye had previously shared that the "Blank Space" singer had wanted to "get in the studio and we're definitely going to go in," as noted by E! News.

"Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I'm down to get in the studio and work," he added.

Definitely sounds like the two share a mutual admiration, which in itself is amazing considering that mic-grabbing incident during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where he stole the spotlight from Taylor and ranted that Beyonce should have won Best Female Video for Single Ladies, instead of the "1989" artist. Indeed, both have gone a long way after reconciling with each other in the wake of that incident.

Taylor also answered questions about her next album, saying that she isn't making a new one just yet.

"That's going to take a lot of thinking about what that should be," MailOnline quoted her as saying in the same ET interview.

"With 1989, I love this album so much that I think it'd be doing a real disservice to try and copy it the next time around. I think it's going to have to be something very, very different, creatively," she said.

Considering the huge success of "1989," fans will do well to trust Taylor to work on her next record at her own pace. So far, she's managed to deliver one ear-candy of an album after another, so she definitely knows what she's doing.
