Arsenal has had a tough time in the Premier League, but their struggles have not yet translated to the UCL.

They got their tournament started off with a strong 2-1 win over Montpelier on the road. They followed it up with an even better 3-1 win over Olympiacos. Lukas Podolski and Gervinho have each tallied twice for the team in the two matches and must continue their poised play as Arsenal takes on their biggest challenge in the tournament. With just 3 wins in seven matches, Arsenal is currently in ninth place with just 12 points. They have been great defensively with 6 goals against, but scoring has been an issue with just 13 goals for. One major factor is that they have only played 3 matches at home and have won one, lost one, and drawn one at home. They have scored seven goals at home and allowed three, which is a huge boost considering that they have scored one goal less on the road in two more games. This could play a huge role for this team when they host Schalke 04.

Germany's third place team has been solid thus far with 5 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss in eight matches. With 17 points, they are just 2 points behind second place and seven behind first place Bayern Munich. They have scored 17 goals and given up 8 and on the road they have been undefeated with 2 wins and 2 draws. They got their UCL tournament off to a solid start with a 2-1 win over Olympiacos. After blowing a 1-0 win in the 58th minute they reestablished it just one minute later. They followed that with a disappointing 2-2 draw with Montpelier in which they fell behind, took the lead and then blew it in the final minute. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has scored twice in the tournament for them and has three goals and two assists in the Bundesliga.

Prediction: Both teams are good enough to win this, but a 2-2 tie seems a likelier possibility.
