Christian Today has reported that it is likely that Square Enix would showcase the new "Kingdom Hearts" game franchise at the upcoming E3 event this June. It noted that the game publisher also used the same event to announced the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts 3" two years ago.

IGN citing Gematsu on the other hand said that fans would be able to see and know more the new game in the upcoming D23 Expo in Japan this November.

"We have some interesting things planned. There will be Kingdom Hearts III news, and various things, I think. Development on Kingdom Hearts III is going smoothly, but there will also be new announcements connected to it. As one of those new announcements, I think we should be able to announce a smartphone-specific development for the series in short order," "Kingdom Hearts 3" director Tetsuya Nomura was quoted in the report saying.

As regards character speculations, Nomura said, "We've been getting in some orders for prospective characters. Since there are a lot of characters from derivative works following Ramza, we're looking to select characters from numbered titles that have not yet appeared. Personally, I'm pressing for [Final Fantasy II's] Minwu."

Meanwhile, Venture Capital Post reported that there might some kind of delay in the release of the new game, also quoting Nomura.

"The Kingdom Hearts team is currently too busy with other projects such as Final Fantasy Versus XIII to work on Kingdom Hearts III. They are doing research concerning the high-definition graphics of the game, and depending on the technical requirements of the next generation consoles, Kingdom Hearts III may see a release on existing platforms," Nomura reportedly said.

The news outlet also revealed that the development team is actually not satisfied with the game's look.

Kpopstarz said it is believed that a trailer for "Kingdom Hearts 3" would come out in the 2015 D23 Expo in Anaheim this August and that other games are also expected to be announced. Among these major titles are "Dragon Quest Heroes" and "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD," as revealed by Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda via Siliconera.

Hypable listed six Disney Worlds which fans like to see in the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts 3" game. The list includes Manhattan, New York which is the home of many huge characters like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man and The X-Men; Highlands, Scotland which is the setting of the Pixar movie "Brave"; Game Central Station, Litwak's Arcade from "Wreck It Ralph"; Arendelle, Norway from "Frozen"; Lucky Cat Cafe, San Fransokyo from "Big Hero 6"; and DS-1, Despayre from "Star Wars."
