A new set of photos of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 has hit the web. The new photos came from French website No Where Else. Check them out here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

According to GSM Arena, which based its report on the leaked renders, the Sony Xperia Z4 did not show many "surprises." In the photos, we see that the speakers are placed behind at the edges of the device. The rear and front cameras are placed where they are expected to be. It also has the 20 megapixel camera with an LED flash. The front camera is perfect for selfie as it is a 5-megapixel shooter. It is said to be dust and water resistant.

GSM Arena said it is powered by Snapdragon 810 and will have a 4GB of RAM and the new Android L 5.0 Lollipop update as its OS.

Android Authority, citing No Where Else, said that "these pictures are for Model E6553 which is being developed under the code name 'IVY'."

It is expected to be a 5.2-inch screen which is available in two options -- 2560X1440 resolution (QHD) and the other at 1920X1080 HD resolution.

Earlier, we reported that the rumored Xperia Z4 is expected to be better than its predecessor, Z3. But a separate report from GSM Arena said the new flagship device (which has already been certified by the Japanese Communication Ministry and by its US counterpart -- US Federal Communications Commission) would likely just inherit some of the "defining features" of its predecessor, the Xperia Z3. It said that just like the Z3, it might also get a 5.2 inches Triluminos display.

The International Business Times said the new device would have a 3420 mAh battery, which is an upgrade from Z3's 3100 mAh one. However, GSM Arena says it would be a 3400 mAh. The Xperia Z4 was earlier expected to be unveiled during the Consumer Electronics Show last January. However, it obviously did not happen. It was also eyed during March's Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona, which also did not happen. At the moment, it is still unknown when the new device would come out.

Phone Arena said it is likely that the device would come out this summer. "[I]t's said that Sony intends to introduce next-gen flagships sometime in the summer...It's not the first time we're hearing about this. In December, thanks to a leaked email allegedly sent between Sony execs, it was mentioned that "the Z4 phones" were planned for May / November 2015," the news outlet said.
