Anticipation is high for Apple's iPad Air 3, and if reports are right, the company will officially be launching the tablet sometime in October, News Every Day reported.

There's somewhat of an agreement regarding the rumored release date of the mysterious iPad Air 3, with most reports pointing at a possible October reveal. The iPad Air 3's predecessors, the iPad Air 2 and the original iPad Air, were both released in October 2014 and 2013, respectively. So it's not too far off to assume that Apple will follow the same pattern for the new iPad Air.

As easy as it was to figure out the release date, though still remaining unconfirmed, the specs and features are a bit trickier to figure out as news about it falls more in the rumors category.

When it comes to the size and weight of the iPad Air 3, it's likely that Apple is going to stick to the same size as the iPad Air 2, according to MacWorld. The iPad Air 2 is already the slenderest Apple tablet in the market, already 6.1 millimeters thick and about half the thickness of the original iPad Air. It's not quite practical for them to slim it down more, and risk having a tablet that feels more breakable than usual.

As for the processor and speed, Apple is known for constantly upgrading their processors. The iPad Air 2 got the new A8X chip, which had a processing speed 12 times faster than the original iPad Air. They could provide the new tablet with an A9X processor. However, Apple has to take note of also improving the tablet's battery life and charging time.

The screen is likely to get a boost too, possibly coming with a screen similar to the iPhone 6 Plus, which sports a 401ppi screen. The same is probably true for the camera, especially as the iPad Air 2 showcased an improved snapper compared to the original. It's also expected to come with various color options available, such as silver, gold and space grey.

As for the pricing, affordability is the name of the game, especially with so many options popping up in the tech industry.

The iPad Air 2 16GB, Wi-Fi only model, or also referred to as its base model, retails at $499, with prices going up depending on the other variants or customizations. It's likely that Apple will set the price of the iPad Air 3 base model somewhere around that and also offer other options for other prices, according to Christian Today.
