The much awaited Apple Watch is set to take center stage this April. The news comes from Master Herald, which reported that Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed it. Although the new wearable was already introduced last year during the unveiling of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, it has not yet officially been released due to the unavailability of some of its parts.

KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo earlier predicted that the device would probably come out this March, reports Mac Rumors. The analyst estimates that a total of 2.8 million Apple Watches are expected to be shipped by the first quarter of this year.

Kuo said that fans could expect an Apple announcement detailing the specs and other features of the new device before the release date. It is also speculated that the new wearable would show up with the rumored iPod Touch 6th generation and Apple's latest mobile operating system. On its website, it just said that the device will be out in "early 2015."

There are at least three kinds of Apple Watch. These are the Apple Watch collection, Apple Watch Sport collection, and Apple Watch Edition collection. Each particular type has their own distinct designs.

For instance, the Apple Watch collection uses "highly polished stainless steel and space black stainless steel cases" with a display "protected by sapphire crystal."

The Apple Watch Edition, on the other hand, has 18-karat gold case. There are at least six metal colors buyers can choose from: stainless steel, silver aluminum, space black stainless steel, space gray aluminum, 18-karat yellow gold and 18-karat rose gold. Buyers can also choose from several leather bands: a link bracelet, sport band, leather loop, classic buckle, modern buckle, and Milanese loop.

Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Sport collection has "lightweight anodized aluminum in silver and space gray" and has Ion-X glass-protected display. Its band is available in five colors: blue, pink, white, green, and black.

Watch Faces

The device also comes with several watch faces. Some of these designs include chronograph, color, modular, utility, Mickey Mouse, simple, motion, solar, and astronomy.

Features

The new Apple Watch boasts a lot of features. It enables users to be updated with messages, Facebook notifications, emails and even news updates through their watches without even looking at their phones.

You can even use your Apple Watch to monitor and boost your health. With the help of the device, you can track your Calorie burn, goals and hits, progress, and workout summary for days and weeks. It is also packed with other useful instruments such as accelerometer and heart rate sensor. It also uses Wi-Fi and GPS.

Price

Tagged as their "most personal device ever," Apple Watch starts at $349.
