Numerous musicians and artists are set to release new albums this year and if the rumors are true, one of them will be hip hop group The Black Eyed Peas, sans Fergie, TV3 reported.

The Black Eyed Peas' last album was 2010's "The Beginning" and after so long, fans are wondering about the fate of the group, especially with the members Will.i.am, Fergie, Taboo and Apl.de.ap who are all busy with their individual activities. Earlier this month though, reports have appeared that the group is planning to release new material. However, Fergie turned down the rumors and also talked about the possibility of her not coming back for now.

The "L.A. Love" singer talked about it during an interview with Digital Spy last week, when she was asked about the group's plans for their 20th year anniversary.

"I was just in the studio last week and I saw Taboo there and I heard something Will was doing and it was great," she said. "But maybe the guys are doing something?"

She mentioned that the others might be releasing an album by themselves, as Fergie had only joined the group in 2003.

Also, Fergie mentioned that it was because she was hard at work with her upcoming second solo album.

"I'm deep in it right now as we speak," she said. "I'm completely involved in finishing the album and I'm razor sharp focused. I am engulfed in it."

She added, "With a Black Eyed Peas album, there's not enough room for me to go into my person feelings about everything. That's what you have a solo album for. So they're each their own animals."

At least that's something to look forward, and Fergie even mentioned that she went into the studio with Will.i.am among others such as Doctor Luke, Polow da Don, Mike WiLL and more.

With Fergie out of commission, fans are wondering how the rest of the group will fare. However, if reports are to be believed, they might have already found someone new to work with.

Reports have appeared that to fill in for their missing member, Will.i.am has reached out to Korean rapper CL, a member of Korean girl group 2NE1, according to Pop Dust.

On Jan. 10, will.i.am tweeted CL, saying, "we need to collaborate with you on the new @bep release... #20yearsOFbep." The Korean rapper replied with a simple "YESSS :)))!!!"

CL already joined the Black Eyed Peas during a performance of "Where is the Love?" in Korea's MNET Music Awards back in 2011, and will.i.am has also worked together with CL's group 2NE1 on "Gettin' Dumb."

Whether or not both parties will move forward with this remains to be seen, and fans are also wondering how the group will fare without someone other than the "Fergalicious" Fergie Ferg.
