The Food Network celebrity chef Giada de Laurentiis is moving ahead with her divorce from fashion designer husband Todd Thompson, but it seems things are not going well for her, with rumors that she'll end up losing millions, Inquisitr reported.

De Laurentiis and Thompson announced their divorce back in December after 12 years of marriage. It followed accusations and rumors of De Laurentiis having affairs with journalist Matt Lauer, singer John Mayer and chef Bobby Flay, all of which she denied.

Now the chef finds herself facing another hurdle after her no prenuptial agreement with Thompson could translate to giving up millions once their combined assets are split.

The news that the couple did not sign prenup agreement comes from a source who spoke with Radar.

"They are going over assets now, but she is worth more than him so she could lose out," the source revealed.

De Laurentiis' career boomed in 2004 when she became a part of The Food Network, the same year she and Thompson were wed. Now she's raking in at least $20 million through her partnership with Target for a line of kitchen supplies, her partnership with Barilla for an Italian gourmet line, her four popular cooking shows and the opening of GIADA restaurant in Las Vegas inside Cromwell Hotel.

It can be recalled that De Laurentiis officially announced her separation from Thompson through her Facebook page.

She wrote: "After an amicable separation since July, Todd and I have decided to end our marriage. Although our decision to separate comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus on the future and overwhelming desire for our family's happiness has given us the strength to move forward on separate, yet always connected paths."

Without a prenup though, things aren't likely to be settled smoothly and what might have been an "amicable separation" will no doubt end up messy if they aren't able to get things sorted.

After Thompson filed for divorce, De Laurentiis followed his lead and submitted court documents of her own. She asked to keep her own possessions, claiming she owns separate property from Thompson, though she did not name specify them, according to Radar.

The upside though is that they both agreed on the joint legal and physical custody of their 6-year-old daughter Jade. However, while De Laurentiis fully agreed to pay child support, Thompson on the other hand, requested not to. It's unknown what De Laurentiis had to say to that.
