Fans and music lovers are excited for the return of NBC's "The Voice" next month in what will undoubtedly be another show filled with good musicians and stellar voices and, in coach Blake Shelton's case maybe a bit more booze, Inquisitr reported.

During the previous season of "The Voice," Shelton was joined by host Carson Daly and fellow coaches Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, "Happy" singer Pharrell Williams and No Doubt vocalist Gwen Stefani. Now he is back on the coach's spinning chair and also back with this handy-dandy cup of drink.

Shelton tweeted about it on Sunday, saying, "Just spent 2 days filming The Voice season 8... Drunk.."

While some might already be muttering about professionalism, it could be nothing but a joke. It certainly wouldn't be the first time Shelton bought something alcoholic on the set anyway.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight in November, Shelton and Levine were asked what they were really drinking while filming the show.

While Shelton joked that "Adam has crack that he keeps in his cup," he admitted that he, on the other hand, toted around vodka.

"I drink vodka on the show," he said. "Now that I think of it, every d*mn brand of vodka has been in that cup. And I don't care if you like it or if anybody likes it. That's what I drink so get over it."

Shelton's impressive alcohol tolerance aside, drinking on set certainly hasn't stopped him from performing well and amassing the most wins out of any coach on "The Voice."

He and Levine are the longest-running coaches on the show, taking part in all eight seasons. While Levine managed to win seasons one and five, Shelton has won four times on the show, with seasons two, three, four and also last year when his singer, Craig Wayne Boyd, won the seventh season.

Hopefully no drinking problems would stop him from nabbing another season win.

For now, he is busy with auditions for season eight alongside Daly as host and coaches Levine, Williams and the returning coach, Christina Aguilera.

Auditions will begin in New York City on Jan. 24 and 25, before moving on to Los Angeles on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. Come Feb. 14 and 15, auditions will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, and then Feb. 21 and 22 will see them all in Chicago, according to Venture Capital Post.

The four coaches will also be joined by artists who will serve as mentors on the show, such as Lionel Richie for Team Williams, Ellie Goulding for Team Levine, Nick Jonas for Team Aguilera and Meghan Trainor for Team Shelton, according to US Weekly.

"The Voice" will return in Feb. 23 on NBC.
