Reports are surfacing that reality star Khloe Kardashian and T.V. host Mario Lopez are close to inking a deal with "The X Factor" as hosts.

CNN reports that an announcement is expected from "X Factor" later this week.

"Those two want to do it, and the show is keen to have them," an unnamed source told CNN.

Host Steve Jones left the show earlier this year, and producers have been scrambling to find a replacement. The show already replaced last season's judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato.

The new hosts will take over Nov. 1 when the show goes live and requires a host.

"X Factor" is joining other competition shows by using big-named celebrities as judges. NBC's "The Voice" first used Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo and Adam Levine. ABC picked up John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Robin Thicke for its series "Duets." Most recently, American Idol inked a record-breaking deal with Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban.
