Are you wondering if your Samsung smartphone is getting the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update soon? Find out here.

A few days before Christmas, it has been noticed that a legitimate Samsung website has somewhat listed phones which are gonna get the new Lollipop update. According to the official Samsung website Finnish edition, several phones will get upgrades on their operating systems. The list includes Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S5 Mini, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 2, and Galaxy Note 2 4G.

On its official Twitter account, Samsung even teased earlier that the new Galaxy Note 4 would get the Lollipop update. In its tweet, it showed a photo wherein we see the new device with a wallpaper of three swirled lollipops. It had the caption, "Anyway you look at it, the #GALAXYNote4 Quad HD Super AMOLED display is pretty sweet. #NoteTheDifference."

Meanwhile, in the table provided by Samsung, it can be noted that a phrase "Ei tietoa" has been placed next to the Galaxy S5, the company's current flagship device. GSM Arena says that the phrase means "no information," suggesting that it is still unknown whether the device would get the update. Even if this is the case, we can still hope that the Korean electronics giant will soon again update the list. For the meantime, this would probably be good news to Samsung users around the world as this confirms that they are getting the update soon.

"This new piece of information is quite peculiar and begs a lot of questions. If it came from any other source it would be instantly dismissed, but given the circumstances it is either a rather large mistake on Samsung's part or it does truly represent a fundamental shift in support politics at the Korean tech giant. Here's hoping that it's a case of the latter," GSM Arena noted.

Although the Finnish Samsung website said that it has no information as to whether the Galaxy S5 device would get the update, reports have earlier said that the Lollipop update has already been rolled out to the device in several regions. The International Business Times said the Samsung Galaxy S5 in Poland and the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition have finally received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. It also noted that most of Samsung's smartphones are expected to get the Lollipop update next year.

It is also good to note that the new information provided by the Finnish Samsung website means that Samsung will no longer follow its rule that limits the upgrading of devices' OS to just two. For instance, the Lollipop update will be Galaxy S4's third one, after getting earlier updates Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Android 4.4 KitKat.
