Pranksters from Dutch website iPhone5.nl decided to prank Apple fans days before the new iOS device was released in the Netherlands.

The prank, which involved super-gluing a brand new iPhone 5 face-down in the middle of in one of the busiest squares in Amsterdam (Leidseplein), has gone viral on the video-sharing site YouTube. The newest Apple device is not available in the Netherlands until Friday, but the folks over at iPhone5.nl somehow managed to get their hands on one.

According to HuffPost Tech, passerby are seen trying to grab the device off the ground before realizing that it’s super-glued to the ground. While some attempt to snatch and go, other become frustrated and begin aggressively kicking and stomping on the phone. Few others use the opportunity to grab a photo with prank prop.

HuffPost Tech reported that the jokesters used the occasion for some self-promotion and wrote “order @ iphone.nl” on the sidewalk with chalk.

By Tuesday afternoon, the iPhone 5 super glue prank had garnered well over 1.2 million views on YouTube.
