Samsung has not yet officially announced it but recent rumors are suggesting that the South Korean electronic giant's new flagship device, the Galaxy S6, will be announced early next year.

Yahoo Tech earlier reported that the new device might actually be announced during the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in January next year. The report even noted that a rumored curved-screen Samsung Galaxy Edge version might also be unveiled during the event.

GSM Arena believes the same as it has reported that the device has been spotted on Zauba, "an Indian import tracking website."

The report said that a device which has a model number of SM-G920F has been sent to India for testing, research, development, and evaluation. The device is believed to be the new Samsung flagship device, the Galaxy S6.

"This of course is very encouraging and can serve as a sort of indication that the smartphone will probably be unveiled at the annual electronics show. The listing itself is pretty much what you would expect from a parcel tracking system. It does not really hold any useful information except the fact that the S6 is already on its way to India and that it is a single test unit," GSM Arena said.

It also noted that Zauba included a price for the new device. It said that the device will be sold for 18,938 Indian rupee, which when converted to US dollars, translates to around $300. But it notes that the market price might actually be higher than that or even double of that.

The rumors about Samsung's new flagship device came after it has been reported that the firm is embarking on a new project called "Project Zero." Sam Mobile said that the project is a first in the company as it has used single letters to name secret projects in the past. This new name -- "Project Zero", it said, indicates that Samsung is creating the new device from "scratch" and on "an entirely new vision."

GSM Arena also shared some of the specs of the new Samsung device.

1440 x 2560 pixel display

It said that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to have a 5.5 inch 1440 x 2560 pixel display.

A leaked image of the new device was earlier unveiled by the Dutch blog site Toptienmobiel which showed an S6 that somehow looks like its predecessor. It just has a thin bezel with a large screen size and metal edges on its sides.

32 GB and 3 GB RAM

GSM Arena says that the new device will likely get a 32GB storage aside from the 3 GB RAM.

Processor

The same report said that device might get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or the Exynos 7420.

Camera

PC Advisor said the device's camera might be a 20-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. However, another Sam Mobile report claims that Samsung might likely stick to its 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization.

Android 5.0 Lollipop update

PC Advisor added that Samsung's new flagship unit will likely get the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update as its operating system.
