With the iPhone 5 coming out in less than 48 hours, Apple fans are receiving a preview with the new iOS 6 but there is one major app absent in the new operating system: YouTube.

As Latinos Post reported, Google and Apple failed to negotiate on a new agreement to have YouTube automatically installed in Apple's new mobile operating system (OS). Apple has also removed Google's Maps app and StreetView capabilities.

Google has prepared ahead of time for this occasion and created a new, and free, YouTube app for the iOS 6. Although it is not yet confirmed if the new YouTube app will be compatible with the iPhone 5 just yet, but it is ready for iPhone 4S and its predecessors, the third and fourth generation iPod Touch, iPad, and compatible for the iOS 4.3 and later.

A notable difference in the new app will be advertising as the previous YouTube app featured no advertisements on the videos as Apple was against it. Google is allowing more advertising opportunities this time around.

YouTube's Global Director of Platform Partnerships Francisco Varela stated the introduction of advertising on the new app means users could watch YouTube videos that were previously available on Android devise.

Customer reviews on the new app has been mixed to positive:

Jeff Kuo: this app is definitely rushed.. the ICON is not even ready. full of Ads.. i think i'll keep my mobile safari version instead of this junk when will google learn, make a great app and people will use it. don't just put out an bad app but cater to the ad agency. deleted!!!

Plaid Knight: What's up with AirPlay functionality in this app? It requires mirroring to play video, but it doesn't play full screen on the tv. No AirPlay = useless app for me. Otherwise, great app. 5 stars with proper airplay.

Joshua D Sands: This app is an improvement over the previous built in version, feels quicker, better discovery, ability to watch in full screen mode or not and switch back and forth. One drawback is the introduction of pre-roll adds, but that is not surprising.
