iPad Pro, dubbed as the bigger iPad version, will arrive in 2015, a Japanese magazine dedicated to Mac users revealed.

The new iPad, which is also rumored to be called the "iPad Air Plus," will be bigger than the usual iPads as it will have a 12.2-inch LCD display and dimensions of 305.31mm x 220.8mm x 7mm or 12 inches x 8.7 inches x 0.28 inches, Mac Rumors reported citing the January issue of Japanese magazine Mac Fan.

Business Insider said this would make the new iPad a little bit thicker than the newly released iPad Air 2 which is 6.1mm thin.

Mac Otakara also announced the 12.2 inch LCD earlier, debunking claims that the iPad Pro will have a 12.9-inch LCD. The blog also revealed that the device will be out in the third quarter of next year.

"My source says, front projection form-factor will be similar to Surface Pro 3, and thickness will be designed to between iPhone 6's and iPhone 6 pro's. It will be thicker than iPad Air 2," Mac Otakara said.

Digitimes reported that the iPad Pro was earlier scheduled to be mass produced in the second half of 2014 but was delayed to make way for the new 12-inch MacBook Air.

Mac Rumors, citing Mac Fan, said that the new iPad will have the new A9 processor. This is an upgrade from the A8X processor that the newly released iPad Air 2 has.

There is a high possibility that the new iPad Pro will look just like the existing iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini, Mac Rumors noted. It said that the new iPad may possess a dual top and bottom speakers to improve stereo audio.

This was confirmed by Mac Otakara saying, "Product design concept seems to be based on iPad Air 2, pair of speakers and microphones will be added on top-side not only bottom's pair. iPad Pro might be capable for supporting stereo audio."

The Japanese magazine also revealed that Apple is creating another tablet, the iPad Mini 4. This new tablet, Mac Rumors said, is expected to get the same A8X processor. It is also expected to get a thinner design like the iPad Air 2. With the release of the iPad Mini 4, it is believed that the manufacturing of the iPad mini and the iPad mini 3 will be stopped.

The two tablets -- iPad Pro and iPad Mini 4 -- are expected to be launched "between April and June" next year, Mac Rumors said.

Other specifications of the tablet remain unknown to date but Design & Trend said that the iPad Pro will likely get 2K and 4K display options with 2560 x 1600 and 4096 x 3072 pixel counts, respectively.
