Japanese multinational company Nintendo on Friday, released the "Super Smash Bros." for Wii U.

The action game which can allow up to eight players was developed by Sora Ltd. and BANDAI NAMCO Studios Inc.

All known Nintendo characters such as Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Luigi, Captain Falcon, Peach, Bowser, Zelda, Sheik, Marth, Meta Knight, Pit, Zero Suit Samus, Ike, Charizard, Pac-Man, and Megaman are back including new secret fighters such as Ness, Falco, Wario, Dr. Mario, Bowser Jr., Duck Hunt, and Jigglypuff.

You can also fight against the newly announced character Palutena, known as the "Goddess of Light" in the Kid Icarus games or you can opt to battle as your own Mii character. Players can also compete with friends and with other people around the world online through the "For Fun" or "For Glory" modes.

The game's graphics have definitely improved as Tech News World said it has a "full 1080p HD at 60 frames per second" so that is pretty amazing.

You can buy the game online for only $59.99 via Nintendo's website. Check out how here.

You can also get it through Amazon and through online retail stores like Best Buy, Game Stop, Toys R Us, and Walmart. Check it here.

'Super Smash Bros.': Nintendo's saving grace?

Tech News World quoted Susan Schreiner, an analyst at C4 Trends, who said that the new game will be Nintendo's key to get "back on track."

"Nintendo had made a big impact in the casual game market with the Wii, but then the company deviated in ways that took them away from their roots...This game could be the one that gets them back on track," she said.

Tech News added that to date, Nintendo has already sold at least 7.29 million units of its Nintendo Wii U since its release in November 2012. Nintendo Wii U sales have already totaled to 7.29 million, lower than Sony's PlayStation 4 sales which totaled to over 10 million since its launch last year.

The sales game is not yet over, however, since Schreiner also acknowledged the title's fan base, a factor that can ultimately determine a game's success.

"Smash Bros. has a loyal following and they are champing at the bit for this one...There is warmth to these characters that you don't find with most video game characters. That's why gamers keep coming back to these games, and why their kids are also playing the older titles," she was quoted as saying.

Things are already looking up when it comes to the games' well-deserved accolades. "Super Smash Bros. for Wii U" has won the Best Fighting Game for this year's Game Critics Awards while the "Super Smash Bros. for 3DS," on the other hand, won as the Best Handheld/Mobile Game for the year.
