Team Cena was warned that every member of its group will be fired if they lose at Survivor Series.
Survivor series announced six matches so far. Bleacher Report wrote that Team Cena and Team Authority will be facing off at the big event in a 10-man tag team match. Viewing both teams, Team Authority features several upstarts who are not used to Survivor Series. Team Cena is composed of seasoned wrestlers like Erick Rowan, Ryback, Big Show, Dolph Ziggler and John Cena himself. Team Authority includes Kane, Seth Rollins, Rusev, Mark Henry, Kane and Luke Harper. Despite the difference, Team Authority is still the odds-on favorite to win the bout, although it seems like the writers are still coming up with an exciting storyline for the final outcome.
In a report by WrestlingInc.com, it was Triple H who will announce during WWE Smackdown on November 21, 2014 that if Team Cena and his teammates lose against the upstart team, they will be eliminated. However, Triple H added that Cena will not be fired because the WWE still needed him. The others, apparently, are dispensable. Also, Vince McMahon announced before that if Team Authority loses at Survivor Series, they will be removed from power.
In another article by Bleacher Report, Adam Lefkoe and Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net discuss the possible outcome of the match. Powell said that it was a tough decision but he had to go with Team Cena. He said that The Authority has been in power for a while now and a change might be good in terms of characters.
Powell explained, "Team Cena? I don't feel strong about that but I think we've seen enough of The Authority for a while now. We need to get away from The Authority figures."
When asked which would be most likely left standing, Powell answered, "Well, of course, John Cena... and Ryback." Powell said that Ryback is one of the toughest wrestlers in the match and is expected to battle it out until the end.
Bleacher Report also wrote that Cena emerging as the winner of Survivor Series would make a good preparation for a championship match against reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Another match between the two has been brewing ever since Lesnar returned to the WWE. It would be a good storyline to increase the hype in the WWE and take the focus away from The Authority. Lesnar, in the meantime, will not be appearing at Survivor Series.
