Tomorrow, the iPhone 5 will become available for pre-order to users around the world. But is it really worth going on the binge now? Here are some of the pros and cons to pre-ordering the iPhone 5.

Pro

Let's start off with the positives. From a technical standpoint, this is the ne-plus-ultra of phones right now. Faster interface with A6 chip. This means, better graphics and faster maneuverability. It will also make video recording and photo processing much quicker and easier to utilize.

Another major benefit of the iPhone 5 is 4G LTE Connectivity which refers to faster data on phones. Apple is the last to join the 4G group and the fact that this feature is excluse to the iPhone 5 makes it a no brainer. A better battery life always makes a phone a must buy. In this case, you get 225 hours of standbuy and 8 hours of talking on 3G.

The phone is also thinner and lighter, something that is hard to overlook when people carry these phones every day. The fact that it is among the lightest phones around makes it hard to ignore.

Cons

But is the iPhone the biggest bang for your buck? The prices are not all that high for what you are getting but let us consider what else is on the market. The 4S drops to $99 for the 16 GB version with contract while the 8 GB version of the iPhone 4 will be FREE. Both phones will get iOS 6 and have screens that are just a half inch smaller than what the iPhone 5 is offering. So iPhone 4 and 4S users will get the new 3D maps, Passbook, and other new features as well.

The screen is only a half inch bigger, but if screen size is your main attraction, look elsewhere. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a 4.7 inch screen and costs $139.99 for the 16GB version with Verizon. It is even cheaper with a Sprint contract.

The final reason to rethink your pre-order is the competition. The Windows 8 Phone is more refreshing and may deserve a shot from prospective smartphone buyers. The iPhone 5 is really not all that different from past iterations of Apple's iPhone, but the Windows 8 Phone is surely something to look into.

The phone becomes available for pre-order on Friday September 14 at 3 AM. Pre-orders can be tendered at Apple's online store. It becomes available on September 21st.
