"The Big Bang Theory" has recently lost a beloved member of the cast - Carol Ann Susi. Although fans weren't able to take a good look at her on the series, it does not mean that she will not be missed.

Susi, who is known on the series as Howard's (Simon Helberg) loud and unseen mother, has died at the age of 62, of a battle with cancer.

According to CNN, Susi never appeared on the show but she routinely hollers at Howard, making her role as the overbearing mother a big part of the show.

The show's executive producers released a statement following Susi's death on Tuesday, saying, "The Big Bang Theory family has lost a beloved member today. Unseen by viewers, the Mrs. Wolowitz character became a bit of a mystery throughout the show's eight seasons. What was not a mystery, however, was Carol Ann's immense talent and comedic timing, which were on display during each unforgettable appearance."

It went on to say, "In addition to her talent, Carol Ann was a constant source of joy and kindness to all. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her family during this time, and we will miss her greatly."

According to CBS local, the show was taping when the news broke, and producers, as well as cast members, expressed their grief via Twitter.

Melissa Rauch, who plays Howard's wife, Bernadette, tweeted, "So grateful to have known Carol Ann Susi who brought laughter & light with her always. She'll forever be in my heart."

Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy Farrah Fowler said, "Beloved Carol Ann Susi passed away, yes. The voice of Mrs wolowitz. Oh Carol Ann."

Howard's best friend, Raj, who is played by Kunal Nayyar, posted on the site, "My heart is broken. I will miss your smile. Your spirit is forever with us."

It seems that Susi will never be seen in "The Big Bang Theory" but even then, she never had a problem with making her raspy voice the moneymaker. In an interview with The Plain Dealer in 2012, via the New York Times, she said, "It didn't bother me that they'd never show Howard's mother."

Carol Ann Susi was born in Brooklyn on February 2, 1952 and moved to Los Angeles in the 1970s. She appeared on "Seinfeld," "Cheers," "Six Feet Under," and "Grey's Anatomy." She also had minor roles in films like "Death Becomes Her" and "My Blue Heaven."

What's going to happen to Howard in TBBT now that Susi has passed away?
