It seems that the LG G Watch R and the Moto 360 are two smartwatches that are being pitted against each other due to their many similarites, including their rounded shape which is not ver common among smartwatches. But when it comes down to design, specs, and performance, which device will bring home the bacon?

In a video review published by Pocketnow's Michael Fisher on YouTube last November 7, it was revealed that it was really difficult to choose between the two as they have almost the same features and specs.

Design

The Moto 360 watch has a stainless steel case with leather band. There are at least six available models to date -- light stainless steel case Stone Horween leather band, dark stainless steel case Black Horween leather band, stainless steel with Light Finish, stainless steel with Dark Finish, stainless steel with Light Finish 18 mm band, and stainless steel with Champagne Gold Finnish 18 mm band. As for the LG G Watch R, its display is a 1.3-inch full circle P-OLED, making its graphics sharper than Moto 360's. Its 320 x 320 resolution makes its display better Moto 360's too. It has a size of 46.4 x 53.6 x 9.7 mm, which includes the bezel measuring 11 mm.

Weight

The LG G Watch R weighs 62 g. The Moto 360 on the other hand has different weights depending on the model. Leather band models weigh less than the LG. It only weighs 49 g. The metal band models on the other hand are heavier at 104 g for the 18mm and 124 g for the 23 mm model.

Both use Android Wear as operating system.

Battery life

LG G Watch R uses a 410mAh while Moto 360 has 320mAh. According to the video, the LG G Watch R has an outstanding battery life. Sometimes, it could last up to 36 hours. Moto 360, on the other hand, has a better charger as it can be done wirelessly.

Processor

LG G Watch R has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, 1.2GHz while Moto 360 has TI OMAP 3.

Memory

Both are packed with 4 GB internal storage and 512 MB RAM.

Features

LG G Watch R users on the other hand have to go to Google Play on their smartphones to download Android Wear App. LG G Watch R's sensors include 9-Axis (Gyro, Accelerometer, Compass),PPG (Hear rate monitor), and barometer. Both are also water resistant.

Price

As for the price, both range between $250 and $350.

So which is better? Both have similar features and perform almost the same but at the end of the day, the decision lies on the users. For users who are all about a lerger screen, go for the Moto 360. But if a sharper display is on your priority list, go for the LG G Watch R. If you are sporty, then LG G Watch R is definitely for you. But if you are the classy laid-back type, the Moto 360 is a good choice.
