Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy S4 will probably get the Android L 5.0 Lollipop early next year, several reports suggest.

NDTV Gadgets said that Samsung Galaxy S4 users will get the new operating system next year. It said that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is still under "Google's 18-month update guarantee period." But it is still possible that his will change. The Android 5.0 Lollipop will be the third major Android update for the device. The two previous Android versions include Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Android 4.4 KitKat. 

As for the Samsung Galaxy S5, Sam Mobile said that those devices with the Exynos processor (GT-I9500) will definitely get the Lollipop update. NDTV Gadgets meanwhile said that there is still no confirmation as to whether Samsung Galaxy S5 phones with the Snapdragon 600 processor will get the update.

In a Twitter post dated October 21, Samsung hinted that the Galaxy Note 4 will probably get the Lollipop update. The photo showed a Galaxy Note 4 that has a wallpaper of three swirled lollipops. It had the caption, "Anyway you look at it, the #GALAXYNote4 Quad HD Super AMOLED display is pretty sweet. #NoteTheDifference."  A previous report from NDTV gadgets said that the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will get the Lollipop a little earlier -- late November or in December.

Other Samsung phones that will get the Lollipop update are Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini, Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, Samsung Galaxy Alpha, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, Samsung Galaxy K Zoom, and Samsung Galaxy Ace Style.

Android Soul revealed that users of Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini, Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, and Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport will be the first ones to get the Lollipop update.

Owners of Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, and Samsung Galaxy Alpha will probably get the update in January or February next year.

The Lollipop update will be available to users of Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, Samsung Galaxy K Zoom, and Samsung Galaxy Ace Style by March or April.

The Lollipop update will also be available to some Samsung tablets. The first tablets to get the updated Android version are Samsung Galaxy Tab S (both the 8.4 and 10.5 inches), Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro (8.4, 10.1, and 12.2), and Samsung Galaxy Note Pro (8.8, 10.1, and 12.2). Users will get the update in January or February.

Meanwhile, users of Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (7.0, 8.0, and 10.1) and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition will get the update by March or April.
