Right on the first day of its release yesterday, "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" was under heavy fire.

Not from the private militia men of Kevin Spacey aka Jonathan Irons, but from a number of fans and gamers who encountered problems loading the video game on their Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Engadget reports that "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" is having a rocky launch because its Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions are having issues.

"The kind of issues that make the game outright unplayable," the report said.

Because of the huge pressure on the video game to really be a blockbuster, Engadget also posted, albeit in jest: "Somewhere in Los Angeles, Kevin Spacey is shedding a single tear and he doesn't know why."

The Xbox One Issues

A downloading issue has cropped up for "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" on Xbox One shortly after the "Day Zero" version went live on November 3, reports IGN.

Xbox One users complain that their installation of "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" only reaches 1 or 2 percent and it completely freezes, notes IGN.

It was later found out that the problem does not just affect Xbox One users but also those with the Xbox 360 versions. It turns out that the downloading issue is a result of the preloaded version of the game on the consoles.

In a statement, Microsoft said: "We're happy to say that our team has fixed the problem. But if you are still experiencing any issues, delete the game and re-download it. Thanks for your patience while we got this issue worked out. Have fun!"

Engadget also reported a problem downloading update of the game from a disc. Allowing the game to download update from the disc will have the process looping between "Installing" and "Queued."

To go around the issue, the site suggests to "Uninstall game" from the Menu button. Then proceed with re-inserting the disc. When prompted to download game's update, click on "Update later," and the game will install properly.

The PS4 Issue

The downloading issue first cropped up actually with PlayStation 4 gamers, particularly those who pre-loaded the game ahead of its release, reports Eurogamer.

Sony has acknowledged that there is an issue with "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" on its latest console and recommended that players simply delete all pre-loaded game files from the system before re-downloading it again, noted the report.

As an added tip to PS4 users, Engadget recommends downloading all available updates to "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" with a system that runs the latest system software.
