"See what you can do. When you can see everything." This is how Apple boasted of its new iMac with Retina 5k display.

Impressed with the newly released iMac with Retina 5K display, a review on the new device published by TechCrunch, hailed it as the "best desktop computer available."

So what exactly does this new iMac have that the previous versions and other computers don't have?

TechCrunch argues that the new iMac currently has the "best display" you can find in the market. As Apple said, it is a "27-inch (diagonal) Retina display with IPS technology" that has "5120-by-2880 resolution with support for millions of colors."

Proving to be truly praise-worthy, endgadget adds that the new iMac's screen has "impeccable sharpness." Both Techcrunch and engadget said that this iMac is definitely what photographers and film makers should have. Or as Techcrunch puts it, it is the perfect desktop computer for those who place display quality on top of their list.

But engadget says that it is not just the resolution that makes this new iMac the best so far. It also has something to do with its image quality. It noted that Oxide TFT technology has been used for this iMac to "keep the brightness even throughout the 27-inch panel."

A compensation film has also been used, it added, making colors to "stay pungent even from unrealistically wide angles." Engadget noted that the previous iMac versions have already had wide viewing angles but this particular upgrade actually beat the earlier ones. Colors, Engadget's Dana Wollman, said have been more "vivid" and "lifelike."

Wollman also said in her review that the "same organic passivation" technique used with the iPads with retina display was also used in the new iMac, hence, improving image quality and power consumption. Thus, another advantage it has is that this new iMac "uses 30 percent less power" than its predecessors.

Wollman concluded that the new iMac with retina display is the "best all-in-one desktop you can buy right now." She however said that she does not recommend it to everyone since it is really expensive. She said the new iMac is definitely the best desktop computer for photographers and film makers.

The new iMac has a 3.5 GHz quadcore Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3 RAM, a whooping 1 TB Fusion Drive, a graphic processor of AMD Radeon R9 M290X that has 2GB memory, four USB 3 ports, two Thunderbolt 2 ports, aGigabit Ethernet, a headphone port, a SDXC card slot, stereo speakers, and dual microphones. The package also comes with an Apple wireless keyboard, magic mouse, and magic trackpad.

It also has a 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and FaceTime HD camera. The new iMac also has the newest operating system, the OS X Yosemite. It also has built-in apps such as iPhoto, iMovie, Safari, iBooks, Mail, FacTime, Messages, iTunes, Mac App Store, and many others. The new iMac is sold for $2,499.
