Grant Gustin may have played a Glee club high school boy in "Glee," but his Barry Allen is as different as it can get from the prep school kid, in the best way possible.

Fortunately for Gustin, "The Flash" did not flunk its season premiere.

The AV Club admitted that much like other television shows, the premiere for "The Flash" was a bit too overstuffed with a back story, an origin, and a supervillain to get through, nevermind the introduction of a bunch of characters.

Despite its shortcomings, the website did praise DC's latest venture into comic book-to-TV series adaptation. According to the site, "The Flash" did not allow for the story to overwhelm the characters. Allen remains to be a light character in the DC universe and the appearance of Oliver from "Arrow" has helped establish the sameness of the "Arrow" and "The Flash" universe.

Unfortunately, considering that this is a series premiere and someone is bound to get cut short, the AV Club suggested that Clyde Mardon (played by Chad Rook) could have been given more line and screen time.

Overall, "The Flash" is off to a good start, marketing mostly on Barry's likeability as a character, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter

The next episodes should be even better, with a more familiar face for one of The Flash's next villain.

Wentworth Miller of "Prison Break" fame is going to be Allen's next villain to beat, and as IGN reported, Leonard Snart (AKA Captain Cold) will be wielding the freeze gun as the leader of The Rogues, a supervillain team that will at some point appear to antagonize the Flash.

Don't get too excited, though. Captain Cold is going to appear on the fourth episode, which means you will have to wait a few more weeks to see Michael Scofield become a villain instead of a genius engineer determined to free his brother.

DC Comics head, Geoff Johns shared via his Instagram account a photo of Miller as the Captain, looking as hot and as bad-ass as ever.

The first photo shows a close-up of Miller in goggles and wielding a glowing gun, a look that Comic Book Resources said to have paid close homage to the character's original design.

The second one is a wider shot with Miller in a parka and having the gun pointed at something, with what seemed to be remnants of an explosion in the background.
