NBC's drama, "The Blacklist" will be back for its second season on Monday, September 22.

Megan Boone is back as Liz Keenan, trying to track down the worst of the worst criminals with the help of James Spader as Red Reddington, a former criminal mastermind turned FBI collaborator.

Quick recap: Season 1 ended with Berlin (Peter Stormare), Red's nemesis, escaping capture, while Liz and Red sort through their issues, specifically, after she found that he mercy-killed her step father.

With Season 2 almost upon us, here are some things you need to know before watching the series' sophomore season:

Krysten Ritter will guest star in the Season 2 premiere

Ritter will play the role of Chloe in the season premiere, a data security firm analyst who will aid Red and Liz in finding Berlin. It is not yet sure whether her gig on the show is for a single episode or more, though.

Red may be Liz's real father

Although theories are all around that Red and Liz could actually be related, the International Business Times reported that executive producers, Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath, said at the San Diego Comic Con that the big question will probably not be answered this season. So much for that one.

Berlin is back, and with backup

Berlin narrowly escaped Liz and Red in the Season 1 finale, but Red is on the manhunt and ready to take his nemesis down. It won't be an easy match however, as Berlin managed to get backup in the form of another villain called Lord Baltimore. A teaser trailer suggests, though, that Berlin and Baltimore might get to Liz before Red gets to them.

The Possibilty of Romance between Liz and Ressler

What's a series without at least a bit of romance, right? Fans think Liz should have a guy to help her through Tom's (Ryan Eggold) death, and a possible pair for her just might be Agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff), since they always seem to have chemistry. Even though Eisendrath said in TV Guide  that no, there won't be romance between the two, he did not squelch the possibility right off the bat for a future story arc either.

Other than that, there is also the possibility that Tom is not exactly dead, either. The producers refused to divulge information during the Comic-Con panel, so there could be a possibility that he's actually alive, because if he's really dead, they could have just said so, right?

What do you think of the possibilities for "The Blacklist"? Is Red really Liz's father? Who will win the war between Berlin and Baltimore and Red? Will Liz and Ressler find love in each other?
