Two teams are vying for soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese striker previously shared that he loves Manchester and would like to transfer to England from Real Madrid.

Ronaldo said, "I love Manchester. Everyone knows that - I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day."

In a report by NBC Sports, Ronaldo seemed unsatisfied with the way that things are being handled in Madrid. During the summer, Ronaldo initially said that he did not appreciate that Xabi Alonso and Angel di Maria were released. Although he subsequently explained his side and shared that he fully supports Florentino Perez, president of Real, the fact remains that he longs to return to England.

Chelsea and Manchester United are now said to be battling to bring the star back to Old Trafford. In a report by Express.co, Louis Van Gaal is ready to offer a big contract which will surpass his current weekly salary of £290,000. Jose Mourinho is also getting into the action after he established a bond with Cristiano when they were together in Real Madrid and won the La Liga. Mourinho is looking for three strikers to complete his squad, with Didier Drogba already occupying the first slot.

Should Ronaldo push to be transferred, Eden Hazard of the Blues and Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund may be acquired in his stead. In an article by Bleacher Report, should any transfer take place, it will be in January 2015. However, experts speculate that the only two teams who have the financial capacity to offer him a lucrative deal would be Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain. Among other contenders, Manchester is the preferred choice for Ronaldo, considering his history with the club. The star might also like the idea of playing with Di Maria and Radamel Falcao, which would make Manchester one of the most formidable teams in Europe.

Although Chelsea is showing interest in the superstar, there is not much need for the club to add such a powerful player in the meantime. In a report by The International Business Times, Mourinho signed Cesc Fabrerga, Diego Costa and Loic Remy during the transfer window. The team is allegedly setting its sights on striker, Paco Alcacer, who has a release clause of 18 million euros. It would be much cheaper compared to the 100 million euro release rate of Cristiano Ronaldo.
