Harry Styles, dubbed as the most outlandish member of the British male supergroup, One Direction, was upstaged by one of his colleagues on Sunday afternoon. Liam Payne shocked his fans when he posted a photo of his naked self aboard a yacht on Instagram.

Of course, the photo was edited so Payne's private part won't be displayed in all its glory. (Sorry One Directioners). Apparently, Payne lost his underwear and captioned his photo, "Damn that was my last pair!"

Although the image was clearly NSFW, it undoubtedly pushed disappointed fans, who wanted to see the unedited version of the photo, to react on social media. Payne may have started a new online fad with his, well, bold antics. Celebrities, who are not necessarily A-listers, may copy him to gain a few more likes or subcription to their social media accounts.

Daily Mail quoted a couple of Twitter followers who were upset with the sly photo. One of them read, "You can't just post pictures like this, @Real_Liam_Payne. How dare you. #UncensorItLiam"

The other wrote in all caps, "#UNCENSORITLIAM WHY WOULD YOU POST A PICTURE OF YOURSELF NAKED BUT CENSOR IT???? WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU LIAM PAYNE."

So, what's the reason behind the revealing photo? Could it be that he was just drumming attention to himself?

The photo can just be a simple prank and nothing more.

Turns out, Payne was not totally naked after all! A few hours after his controversial photo was posted, he uploaded the uncensored version of the original photo, revealing that he was, in fact, wearing undies.

"Oh I found them never mind aha", he captioned.

In June, Styles also posted a revealing photo on social media. He was seen, gesturing a peace sign while sitting on a couch, apparently, naked. He was reportedly watching a boxing match with his family when the photo was uploaded. The image was taken down, but not before millions of his online followers saved it.

Payne, on the other hand, doesn't seem to mind the attention he got from posting the risque image. As of this writing, the image already got 567 thousand likes on Instagram.
