A television veteran is coming to "Scandal." Funnywoman, Ellen DeGeneres, sent out a tweet today about how her wife, "Arrested Development" star, Portia de Rossi, would have a major role in Shonda Rhimes' political drama.

"So annoying when people brag on twitter & that's why I'm not tweeting that Portia just signed on to do a top secret arc on "Scandal". Oops," Ellen's tweet read.

The recent announcement squashed rumors about the couple's alleged rocky marriage. Ellen and Portia's sixth wedding anniversary will be on August 16, and it has been reported that the two are planning to renew their vows in a special ceremony at Portia's home country, Australia.

There is no word on what de Rossi will be playing in the show that made Kerry Washington a household name in television. However, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that de Rossi will not just only guest-star in the show, but she will be appearing in multiple episodes throughout the upcoming season. EW went as far as hinting that de Rossi may be part of Papa Pope's B6-13 army.

For people who have yet to catch up with the hit television series, B6-13 is a covert government agency run by the Pope patriarch. It is known to carry out missions that involve torture, killing or assassinations made to look like suicides. In the series, B6-13 is so powerful that even the U.S. president can't control it.

On the other hand, US Magazine stressed that de Rossi might play backup to Washington's character, as it could be recalled that she was spotted leaving DC alongside Jake Ballard (Scott Foley).

Fans may just have to wait for what is in store for Olivia Pope (Washington) and how de Rossi's role will impact the lives of the former and everyone around her. Daily Mail said the fourth season is expected to hit television screens on September 25.

Aside from "Arrested Development," de Rossi is also known for her role as lawyer, Nelle Porter, in the defunct sitcom, "Ally McBeal.
