A super fight in the UFC women's division is in the works, featuring Ronda Rousey versus Gina Carano.

Gina Carano, a pioneer and veteran of the sport, has been out of the Octagon for years and busy with her budding career in film. However, Dana White, president of the UFC, said that he was confident that both sides will come to an agreement. In a report by Yahoo! Sports, Carano and her lawyer will meet with White on July 21, 2014 to discuss the details of a mega match.

White said that it is very likely that should Carano sign the deal and return to the UFC, she will immediately be pitted against the women's champion. White said, when asked about the direct shot at the championship by Carano, "I think so. It'll probably be early December." He also talked about Carano's fight against Cris Cyborg in 2009, "Here's the thing with that. She did a damn good job against Cris 'Cyborg' Justino, and Cyborg was a little jacked up on Mountain Dew in that fight. And, she's the one that started this whole women's MMA craze. And, Ronda wants to fight her."

In an article on Bleacher Report, several fans are actually concerned on Carano's condition to fight, since she has not been in the ring since 2009. Her last match was against Cyborg, where Carano terribly lost.

White said, "Ronda has done everything that we've asked her to do. This is like a GSP situation, when GSP asked us for Diaz. How would I say no to GSP? Ronda wants this fight bad. Gina wants the fight bad too." He concluded, "(Ronda) is the greatest athlete I've ever worked with, on every level. She got an ESPY (for Best Female Athlete). She opted to get her surgeries and get them done instead in order to heal faster instead of showing up and doing the whole ESPY thing. That's a huge thing. Every big star sports is there. This girl went and got both of her surgeries done so she could heal faster and get back in there and perform again. I've never dealt with anybody like her."

Should the fight happen between Rousey and Carano, it will probably be the biggest ever in the female division. The match will most likely happen on December 6, 2014 at UFC 182. Cat Zingano will fall out of place if Carano returns. Even if Zingano wins against Amanda Nunes at UFC 178, she will only be the second choice to face Rousey.
