There are talks that Brock Lesnar is set to make his WWE comeback at Battleground 2014 and will be facing John Cena on July 20 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Florida.

Battleground 2014 is the second of the series, with the first one held in 2014. According to a report by Wrestle Zone, Lesnar may initiate Triple H's "Plan B" against John Cena at the event. Later on, fans expect Lesnar to win the WWE World Title then later on defend the belt against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31. It was previously confirmed that Lesnar will be at SummerSlam and the Night of Champions PPV. He is also expected to appear at Royal Rumble 2015.

It would have been a good match between Lesnar and Daniel Bryan but the latter is injured so WWE needs a solid contender in his place. In an article on Bleacher Report, John Cena seems to be the most viable option for the WWE. Lesnar needs a star wrestler to show his alpha status after defeating The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX. In terms of pay-per-view, a Lesnar-Cena match would be ideal. It is also good for the fans to once again see the two stars collide.

Cena and Lesnar started in the WWE in 2002 in the "Ruthless Aggression Era". The WWE may also be contemplating other possible opponents for Lesnar such as Cesaro, considering that Paul Heyman represents the two wrestlers. It would make a good storyline if Heyman was forced to pick between the two.

According to Sports World News, Triple H told John Cena, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, that if Cena can retain at Battleground, there is a "Plan B" in store for him. The Authority gave John Cena two choices: the easy way or the hard way. According to talks in RAW, Triple H was referring to Brock Lesnar. Cena is set to fight Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Kane in a Fatal Four Way match at Battleground. Some fans thought that "Plan B" referred to Seth Rollins cashing in his "Money In the Bank Briefcase" to face Cena too. There are rumors that Lesnar will attack Cena after the latter retains at setting the path to their giant match.

WWE fans speculate that Lesnar will be winning a number of big events, although he may not be holding on to the title very long, considering his part-time schedule.
