What really went wrong between in-demand host Ryan Seacrest and actress Julianne Hough?

Within the same month that the 25-year-old dancer lost about $100,000 of jewelry - all of which were given to her by Ryan - to thieves last year, her relationship with her entertainment mogul boyfriend ended.

According to The Daily Mail, the couple reportedly split "due to their busy work schedules getting in the way of their relationship." So, it was not the loss of the baubles, then?

More than a year after the pair broke up, some have still continued to speculate on the demise of the lovebirds' relationship, as both have not really spoken at length about the real score on why they parted ways. Until now, thanks to Julianne's initiative.

"Every relationship, there was nothing wrong or bad, but there was nothing right," she told Redbook in a recent interview. "I had one foot out because I didn't want to get hurt. And I didn't say what was on my mind because I didn't want to ruffle any feathers. I needed to be perfect."

"But now I'm not holding anything back, because I'd rather get my heart broken than never know what it is to be completely, madly in love. If I had been this open in my last relationship, who knows?" she said.

Now, those are some wise statements that fans and lovers may do well to learn from.

She also revealed that she's now in a better place in the romance department, thanks in part to her family.

"I had this epiphany when my family went to a six-day seminar [last November] about creating your own destiny. I was not into it at first, but I learned so much about myself and why my relationships didn't work that by the end I was on a high," the actress shared.

"I was seeing a couple people, but immediately [pretends to text guys], 'You are nice, but this is going nowhere.' The next day my 'Curve' costar introduced [Brooks and me]. It couldn't have been a better time. We've been open and honest from day one," she added.

Currently, the "Safe Haven" star is dating hockey player Brooks Laich, according to Fox News. Based on what she just revealed, we understand that she must be doing things right this time with Brooks and is bexoming just herself.

Will this good-looking couple eventually make it to the altar together? That remains to be seen!
