Readers who feel nothing but loathing for the character George Mendez, a.k.a. Pornstache, on the Netflix comedy, "Orange is the New Black," might start regretting the things they said because it seems that Pablo Schreiber, the actor playing the role, will be leaving the hit TV series soon.

In an interview with Vulture at the premiere of "Tammy," Schreiber revealed that his presence is expected to be fewer. Fans will recall that the first season of OTNB, Pornstache was suspended after getting caught doing it with Daya, which led to him being "suspended" and visibly absent for most of season two. Now that season three has already started filming, it seems that his screen time will be a lot fewer to nil.

"I'm a series regular now on a show called 'The Brink' on HBO. But his mother is making an appearance on season three. Mary Streenburgen has been cast as my mom. I'm not sure what she'll do that will advance the Pornstache plotline, but for now, Mendez is in prison, biding his time. Spoiler alert!" he said.

It is unclear what Steenburgen will be doing on the show. Punters believe she may be in place to fight for custody of Daya's baby, although we all know it's Bennett's (played by Matt McGorry). Still, this doesn't stop speculators from thinking what could happen IF Schreiber's role were to play dad, "He'd be a doting father. I think he's very interested in legacy, like he wants to make as many mini-Pornstaches as he can."

According to TV Guide, HBO had given the go signal for the new comedy series "The Brink" in February, which stars Jack Black and Tim Robbins. Schreiber will be playing Zeke Callahan, an ace Navy fighter pilot, who will be closely slotted with Robbins and Black as the three pull through different situations to avert World War III. The actor brings with him some serious acting chops, as we already know, with his portrayal of the sadistic prison guard at OTNB; he has appeared on the likes of The Wire, Lights Out, Law & Order: SVU and A Gifted Man.

To quote another TV Guide article more aptly, Schreiber has said his OTNB participation for the next season will be "limited." And because he didn't really say he was going to be totally off show, that leaves viewers some hope that maybe his dark character will find a certain degree of humanity and redemption, as is the usual course for characters in the show.
