Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi released his most recent album "8", which is filled with new songs that show a more inspired, stable Fonsi who is going through the best moment of his career as a singer.

In an exclusive interview with Univisión, Fonsi openly spoke of what his new album means to him. For the Boricua, eight is his lucky number, and named his most recent album with said number, besides it being his eighth production.

For Fonsi, the release of "8" was worth leaving his comfort zone, looking for new experiences along with producer Martín Terefe, which allowed him to meet new people during his stay in London, a city where he had never worked before.

"I risked a lot more than in previous albums, mostly when I decided to look for a completely new production team, who didn't even know who Luis Fonsi is, or my story," said the singer.

For the Puerto Rican "8" reflects the inner peace he has reached after the arrival of his daughter Makaela, fruit of his relationship with model águeda López. For Fonsi, his daughter, who was born during the early stages of recording for his album, was the inspiration and gave him a new direction and focus for the production.

"It doesn't mean I didn't have it before, because I'm very disciplined and focused on what I do, but now I feel like everything is clearer and now I have more reason to give it my 120 percent," he said.

Luis Fonsi's new album will be released on monday, May 19 in Latin America, Spain an the United States, with a deluxe version with 15 songs and a DVD in which the singer narrates a big part of his experiences during the making of his album.
