President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that he sees a small window of opportunity to approve immigration reform, stuck in the House of Representatives, before entering the electoral period in Washington in November.

"We have this narrow window. The closer we get to the midterm elections, the harder it is to do things around here," said the American President who bears the responsibility of fulfilling with campaign promises during his reelection campaign, elections during which he had the Latino vote. "We have maybe a window... of two, three months to get the ball rolling in the House of Representatives," he added.

Even if Obama showed his support for the bipartisan project approved in the Senate in 2013, he assured he's not "determined" on the irreplaceable aproval of the legislative proposal; however, he assured that the approved reform must have aspects that open a way to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants.

"We're not determined to make sure all the cards of what's in the Senate project is exactly what will finally land in my desk to be signed," said Obama.

Michael Steel, a spokesman for the House of Representatives, highlighted that in the United States there is a broken immigration system, but was optimistic by assuring that it's possible to advance in the matter and manage to get the next President Elect to fulfill the law that ends up being approved.
